Geyue Electric enables users to set parameters so that the GYSVG Series Static Var Generator can have functions such as filtering out harmonics, dynamically compensating reactive power, compensating three-phase unbalance, and compensating voltage sag at the same time. The following are the detailed descriptions of the function principles.

Harmonic Filtering: Geyue Electric GYSVG Series Static Var Generator collects real-time current signals in real time with the assistance of external current transformers. Through the detection circuit inside SVG, the harmonics in the current signal are isolated. Meanwhile, another component inside SVG, the IGBT power converter, can generate and output compensation current that has the same magnitude as the harmonics in the circuit system but opposite phase, thereby achieving the function of filtering out harmonics. The compensation current output by SVG will shift dynamically and precisely according to the harmonic quantity of the system, so there will be no overcompensation in the circuit. In addition, SVG also has an overload protection function inside. That is to say, when the harmonic quantity of the circuit system exceeds the capacity of the filter, the device can automatically limit its own capacity output to no more than 100% of the rated capacity, thereby effectively preventing the occurrence of overload.

Reactive Power Compensation: Geyue Electric GYSVG Series Static Var Generator generates capacitive or inductive fundamental current through the IGBT power converter based on the reactive power of the circuit system to achieve the purpose of dynamic reactive power compensation. The compensation target value can be set through the operation panel, so overcompensation will not occur, and the compensation is smooth without generating inrush current impact on the load and the power grid.

Three-phase Balance: The term "three-phase balanced current" refers to a state in which the three-phase currents are equal in amplitude and symmetrical in phase in a three-phase power system. Geyue Electric GYSVG Series Static Var Generator extracts the unbalanced components from the current from the power system and outputs three-phase currents that are equal in magnitude but opposite in phase to the unbalanced current. By compensating the unbalanced current to zero in this way, the three-phase unbalanced current is corrected into three-phase balanced current
